About Me
I’m Anthony Ramirez, the photographer behind East LA Photographer.
Photography started for me with something simple—capturing my family, our experiences, and youth sports. Over time, that passion grew into photographing quinceañeras, weddings, portraits, graduations, community events, live performances, and sports throughout East Los Angeles and the surrounding communities.
But for me, photography has never been only about taking a good picture. It is about preserving a story.
I was born and raised in East Los Angeles, and this community is a major part of who I am. I’m a proud Garfield High School alumnus, and some of my earliest memories include performing at the East LA Classic with Garfield’s Amazing Marching Band. Today, I continue giving back to the community through photography, education, and supporting the next generation.
Along with my photography work, I am a Career Technical Education teacher in Arts, Media & Entertainment, teaching students photography, filmmaking, design, and visual storytelling. Being able to share the skills I’ve learned behind the camera with young people has given photography an entirely new purpose for me.
You’ll often find me on a football sideline, inside a gym, photographing a school or community event, documenting a quinceañera, or capturing a family milestone. Whether I’m photographing a championship moment or a quiet moment between family members, my goal is always the same:
Capture something real. Capture something meaningful. Capture something worth remembering.
East LA isn’t simply where I work—it’s home.
